When we were tidying up round St Ann's Well and hanging the new Crescent planters, we noticed that there were a lot of weeds in the steps, and then we saw that the grass was encroaching onto the paths ... and when we cut back the grass it looked so much better!
And so a new project was born. Starting in August 2016 we organised a series of work sessions on the Slopes, starting with weeding and edging. Later on we expanded to trimming all the surplus growth from the base of the trees, cleaning the moss off the stone walls, cleaning up the urns and with help from volunteers from Cemex, cleaning and painting all the benches. Then we moved on to repointing the slabs round the war memorial, cleaning signs and railings, the railings around the weather station could do with painting ... no doubt we'll come up with more things as time goes by!
We'd love you to join us, please get in touch.
