Peak District Boundary Walk

Friends of the Peak District came up with this fantastic idea – a 192 mile walk that follows the boundary of the Peak Park. Years of planning, lobbying, fundraising,     mapping,  walking and checking the route, the dream is reality. The UK’s first complete circular walk around a national park is complete and will be officially launched on Saturday 17th June 2017.

The official start and finish is in Buxton, on – where else? – the Market Place, outside the Town Hall. To mark the launch we’re planning on a big celebration, with celebrity visitors, speeches, unveiling a plaque, food and drink, special outdoor pursuits market, music and dancing. Meanwhile volunteer Friends of the Peak District will be walking all 20 stages of the route during the day (details of all the stages and how to register to walk on the day are on their website) before converging on Buxton to join the party.

Here’s the Full Programme for the day.

It will be a fantastic day. If you can help out in any way you’d be very welcome to join the team. More details on the ProjectProposal.

If you are a performer or trader who would love to perform or trade on the day, there are still spaces available. Please see the links below for application forms and more information.
