WEEKEND 10TH AND 11TH JUNE
The 2016 inaugural trail saw 27 private gardens open to visitors. This year there were 32 private gardens, as well as Buxton’s many beautiful parks and public spaces to explore!
The gardens were open from 10am to 5pm both days. As well as the gardens, many had plants for sale, and artists, poets and other entertainers ‘in residence’ to add to visitors’ enjoyment.
To make the weekend extra special, there was a plant and garden themed market on Buxton Market Place on Saturday 10th June, and a Plant and Craft Bazaar in the Pavilion Gardens on Sunday 11th.
A map with full details of all the gardens was on sale, costing £3 for one person to enter all the gardens on both days. A total of 648 maps were sold, and all the gardens reported being very busy on both days.
Our thanks to all the people who so kindly opened their gardens and made visitors so welcome, and to the supporting artists, musicians and other entertainers.
You can see details of the project in the Project Proposal, a Closing Report will be published soon.
