Talking Signposts 2014

Talking Signposts project
Following on from our two week trial in July 2013, in 2014 we had a rota of volunteer Talking Signposts for two months through July and August.
Volunteers signed up for two hour shifts, and we aimed to cover the busiest periods, with fifteen shifts a week in total. All our volunteers are Buxton residents, with a basic knowledge of the town, but they also have maps of the town, copies of the Town Guide and information about what is going on each day. To date all our volunteers have said they thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are willing to do it again.
It’s more than likely that we’ll be running the Talking Signposts again next summer, and in the meatime we’re still doing it on the first Saturday each month only, to support the Artisan Market. If you would like to help out either now or next year, please contact Tina.
For full details of the project see the Project Proposal – a Closing Report is being prepared and should be up here soon.
