Buxton Neighbourhood Plan

Since the 2011 Localism Act, communities have had the right to produce their own plans for their own neighbourhoods. Neighbourhood Plans can’t contradict the Local Plan produced by the Local Authority, but they can enhance it and improve it. Once adopted they have the same legal standing, and planners and developers have to abide by them – which gives communities a real influence on the way their neighbourhood is developed.

It took a few years for the High Peak Local Plan to be approved but now it’s in place we think it’s worth looking at devising a Neighbourhood Plan for Buxton. We’ve talked to other voluntary groups in the town and a lot of people are thinking the same. So the next stage is to hold a public meeting, and invite everyone in Buxton to get involved…

This will take place on:
Tuesday 27th March 7-9pm at the Palace Hotel
Everyone is welcome to attend, please pass the word around.
